Budweisers are back to stay!!

El regreso de los asturianos Budweisers hace dos años plasmado en el EP editado por Family Spree junto al sello austriaco Monster Zero y la inefable escudería No Tomorrow felizmente no ha sido esporádico.

Nada más lejos de la realidad, y es que por fin el trío astur se ha decidido a regalarnos todo un álbum por el que destila la íntegra sabiduría adquirida en los terrenos principalmente del punk-rock norteamericano y el power-pop.

Como buenos ramonianos de segunda generación la sombra de Lookout! sigue planeando sobre su repertorio (100% original con colaboraciones de sus colegas los Feedbacks), con ecos a Screaching Weasel, Riverdales, Llillingtons y por encima de todo The Queers como referencia en fondo y forma.

Pero desde los acordes inequívocamente ramonianos de “I Don’t Wanna be Bad” (remitiendo al “I Just Want to Have Something to Do” de los de Queens) hasta la deliciosa “The Rhythm of My Heart” (con la firma de Adolfo Feedbacks) todo el disco coge el vuelo estratosférico de las melodías del alto octanaje envueltas en proteíco sonido guitarrero bajo la magistral mano de Ángel Kaplan a los mandos, quien también mete guitarras y teclados.

De los ecos a Beach Boys de “I Wonder” hasta la burricie hardcoreta de “Go to Hell”, de la urgencia adolescente de “Fall in Love” u “All the Way Down” al puño en alto obligado de “Higschool Party” (tope Riverdales) El disco acaba resonando en tu cerebro como la banda sonora perfecta de las interminables noches de un verano libre de coronavirus, aullando amores bajo la luna y bebiendo sólo Budweiser.

Si creciste tanto escuchando a los Yum Yums y Parasites como descubriendo la Paul Collins Beat sabrás de lo que te hablo, y si no ha sido así nunca es tarde para doblar las rodillas a lo Johhny Ramone empuñando una imaginaria Mosrite y unirte a la Sagrada Iglesia de la Zapatilla. Porque como se encarga de recordarnos el trío asturiano en “Double Agent”, “I swear punk-rock will never ever die”.
